It's really discouraging, because this is a really good game and I hate that I have to play it on a 2nd computer. At least it would be a little closer to the original! If you can get past the problems with the 360 version of Garry's Mod, all the other issues you've cited should be easy to fix by downloading the game to the PC. However, to be fair, it is probably the case that 360 users would have to wait for a more stable version of the game to be released.
